Job Details
We are hiring an experienced Customs Clearance & Business Development Manager for a growing logistics and transportation company in the UAE.
This is a key role for a commercially driven customs clearance professional who can manage both customs clearance operations and new business development. The ideal candidate must be able to build the customs clearance business from the ground up, generate new B2B clients, secure profitable shipments, and manage the full clearance process with accuracy, compliance, and commercial discipline.
The candidate must have strong practical experience with Dubai Customs, Dubai Trade, Jebel Ali, import/export documentation, customs declaration procedures, freight forwarding, ports, airports, free zones, and UAE logistics operations.
This role is not suitable for candidates who only have documentation experience. The successful candidate must be able to bring clients, generate revenue, manage shipments, and contribute directly to business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Generate new B2B clients from scratch, including importers, exporters, traders, freight forwarders, general trading companies, FMCG companies, manufacturers, warehouses, and logistics clients.
Develop profitable customs clearance, transportation, and logistics business opportunities.
Handle customs clearance procedures for import, export, re-export, transit, cross-border, and related shipments.
Prepare, review, and verify all required documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, HS codes, permits, shipping documents, and customs requirements.
Use Dubai Trade and Dubai Customs systems accurately and efficiently.
Coordinate with clients, shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs authorities, ports, airports, free zones, warehouses, transport providers, and other relevant parties.
Prepare professional quotations for customs clearance, documentation, transportation, delivery, and related logistics services.
Ensure all jobs are priced correctly, approved internally, compliant with applicable requirements, and commercially profitable.
Follow up on client payments and ensure that service revenue is fully collected.
Identify and avoid high-risk customers, delayed-payment customers, and unprofitable jobs.
Resolve customs, documentation, shipment, and client-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
Build long-term client relationships and convert one-time shipments into recurring business.
Submit daily and weekly reports covering leads, client visits, quotations, active shipments, revenue, collections, and market opportunities.
Requirements
Minimum 7 years of UAE experience in customs clearance, preferably in Dubai.
Strong hands-on experience with Dubai Customs, Dubai Trade, Jebel Ali, ports, airports, free zones, and UAE import/export procedures.
Proven ability to generate new clients and bring business independently.
Strong knowledge of customs documentation, HS Code classification, permits, restricted goods, inspection procedures, clearance requirements, and shipment compliance.
Experience in freight forwarding, transportation coordination, import/export operations, or logistics services is highly preferred.
Ability to work independently and build business in a new or growing company environment.
Strong commercial mindset with the ability to price jobs profitably and protect company margins.
Excellent communication, negotiation, follow-up, and client relationship management skills.
Good English communication skills are required; Arabic is an advantage.
Existing network of clients in trading, import/export, freight forwarding, logistics, or customs clearance is highly preferred.
UAE driving licence is an advantage.
Compensation & Growth Opportunity

Attractive commission on collected service revenue.
Higher package may be considered for candidates who can bring active clients and generate confirmed business within the first 30 to 90 days.
