Job Details
We are developing a BOQ quotation and supplier comparison platform and are looking for an experienced BOQ specialist or quantity surveyor with strong knowledge of the Dubai construction market.
The ideal candidate has practical experience with BOQ files, material classification, supplier quotations, and construction procurement workflows in Dubai/UAE.
What we need help with:
- Reviewing BOQ files and explaining the correct structure
- Grouping materials and work items into logical categories
- Advising how suppliers usually quote on BOQ items in Dubai
- Helping us define the best workflow for requesting, comparing, and tracking quotations
- Providing insight into common mistakes, missing details, and practical requirements in BOQ-based procurement
- Advising how contractors, developers, consultants, and suppliers normally communicate around BOQ pricing
Requirements:
- Proven experience with BOQs in Dubai or the UAE
- Background as a Quantity Surveyor, Procurement Manager, Estimator, Project Engineer, or Construction Consultant
- Strong understanding of construction materials, MEP, finishing, civil works, and supplier quotation processes
- Ability to explain processes clearly to a software/product development team
- Experience with Excel-based BOQs and quotation comparison is preferred
This is an advisory role for the development of a software platform. We are not only looking for someone to complete one BOQ, but someone who can help us understand how BOQ workflows should be structured in practice.
