Role Summary
The Landscape Project Engineer owns each project from the day the customer confirms the order until the customer signs the handover certificate. Once a project is confirmed, you receive the scope of work and the approved quotation, and from that point you are fully responsible for delivery: on time, within scope, within budget, and to the customer's satisfaction. You will handle all civil works within landscaping projects, including hardscaping, pergolas, gazebos, stepping stones, paving, retaining structures, swimming pools, and any other civil-related work.
Key Responsibilities
1. Study the scope of work, quotation and drawings at project start, and prepare the execution plan and timeline.
2. Execute and supervise all civil works in landscape projects, including hardscaping, pergolas, gazebos, stepping stones, paving, retaining structures, swimming pools and any other civil-related work, to the approved drawings and quality standards.
3. Handle swimming pool projects end to end, including coordinating and attending inspections with the relevant authorities and consultants.
4. Plan and manage manpower: allocate crews, supervise daily work, and ensure productivity and site discipline.
5. Raise material requests to the office in time, track deliveries, and make sure nothing delays the site.
6. Maintain the project schedule, track progress daily, and flag risks or delays early to management.
7. Be the main point of contact for the customer: updates, expectation management, and handling changes or variation requests, always documented in writing.
8. Coordinate with the office, quotation team, nursery and purchasing for materials, plants and approvals.
9. Control quality on site, and make sure the work matches the approved scope and drawings.
10. Prepare daily or weekly progress reports with photos.
11. Manage snagging and punch lists, and complete the project cleanly.
12. Obtain the customer's signed handover or completion certificate, and close out the project file.
Requirements
• Diploma or degree in civil engineering or a closely related civil discipline; strong practical civil site experience can substitute for a degree.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of civil site execution experience, ideally in UAE construction or landscaping projects.
• Ability to read drawings and understand BOQs and quotations.
• Strong communication skills in English; Arabic, Hindi or Urdu is an advantage.
• UAE driving license preferred.
• Candidates who are readily available to join are preferred.
• Hard-working, honest, consistent and willing to take full responsibility for the projects assigned.
Compensation
• Monthly target: AED 500,000 worth of project execution per month. Please note: you are not required to bring in projects or sales. Winning projects is the job of our sales team. Your role is to execute and complete the projects handed over to you, and the target is based on the value of work you execute and complete.
• Fixed salary: AED 7,500 per month when the target is achieved. Advertised as: up to AED 9,500 per month, including AED 7,500 fixed plus AED 2,000 target bonus.
• Target bonus: an additional AED 2,000 per month when the full AED 500,000 target is achieved, bringing total monthly pay at target to AED 9,500.
• Shortfall: if the target is not achieved, the fixed salary is pro-rated to the percentage of target achieved. The AED 2,000 bonus is paid only when the full target is met.
• Exception months: up to 3 missed-target months are allowed during the 24-month contract, during which the full fixed salary is paid. From the fourth missed month onward, the pro-rated salary applies.
• Benefits: no company vehicle is provided; petrol expenses are reimbursed on submission of petrol bills.
Contract Terms
• 24-month contract.
• Must sign an NDA and non-compete undertaking.
• Daily progress reporting is mandatory.
• Working hours: 9 hours per day, which includes 1 hour of overtime already covered in the package.
Note on Permits and Approvals
Permits, NOCs and approvals, including swimming pool approvals, are handled by an external agency and are not part of this role. The Project Engineer is responsible for dealing with the authorities during site inspections.
