Job Details

We are looking for a motivated and hardworking Commis 2 – Butchery / Prep Chef to join our kitchen team for the launch of our new restaurant project in Dubai. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the opening team and develop your skills in a professional and fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily preparation and mise en place for the kitchen.
• Assist with the preparation, trimming, cutting, and portioning of meat, poultry, and seafood.
• Prepare ingredients according to kitchen requirements and recipes.
• Maintain consistent portion sizes and minimize food wastage.
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of prepared ingredients.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the preparation and kitchen areas.
• Assist the Chef de Partie and senior chefs during daily operations and service.
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a Japanese or Asian restaurant is required.
• Previous experience as a Commis 2, Prep Cook, Butchery Commis, or similar kitchen position.
• Good knife skills and basic knowledge of meat, poultry, and seafood preparation.
• Understanding of Japanese/Asian ingredients and preparation techniques is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
• Willingness to learn and develop within the kitchen team.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Good communication skills and a positive team attitude.
• Candidates must currently be based in the UAE.
• Candidates available to join immediately are preferred.
