Role
Support the kitchen team in daily operations across breakfast and lunch service. Execute food preparation and dishes consistently to the café's standards under the direction of the Head Chef.
Responsibilities
Food Preparation
Carry out all mise en place as directed
Prepare and portion ingredients for service
Execute hot and cold dishes to recipe and plating standards
Support the hot line — grilling, frying, sautéeing
Kitchen Operations
Maintain a clean and organised workstation at all times
Follow FIFO principles for all ingredients
Monitor stock levels and flag shortages to the Head Chef
Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating deliveries
Support opening and closing duties as assigned
Hygiene & Food Safety
Follow HACCP guidelines and food safety regulations strictly
Ensure correct storage of all food items
Monitor and record temperature checks as required
Report any food safety concerns immediately
Team
Work collaboratively with kitchen and FOH during service
Take feedback constructively and act on it
Support other sections when required
Requirements
5-10 years kitchen experience in a café, restaurant, or hotel
Experience in Western or all-day dining preferred
Basic knife skills and food preparation fundamentals
Reliable, punctual, able to work under pressure
Team player who takes direction well
Culinary qualification is a plus, not required
