Job Details

We are looking for a reliable, trustworthy and detail-oriented housekeeper to join our home on a long-term basis.

Schedule

Monday to Friday
3 hours per day
Long-term position
Direct employer (not an agency)

Main Responsibilities

Housekeeping

Clean the home to an exceptionally high standard.
Dusting all surfaces and furniture.
Vacuuming and mopping floors.
Cleaning bathrooms and kitchen thoroughly.
Cleaning mirrors, glass and appliances.
Making beds and changing bed linen.
Emptying bins and maintaining overall cleanliness.
Keeping the home tidy and well organised.
Noticing when household items need replenishing.

Laundry & Organisation

Washing, drying and folding laundry.
Ironing clothing and household linen as required.
Organising wardrobes, cupboards and storage areas.
Maintaining an organised and clutter-free home.

Cooking

Preparing simple, healthy meals.
Meal preparation for the week when required.
Keeping the kitchen clean and organised after cooking.

Household Management

Ordering groceries and household essentials.
Accepting deliveries when required.
Helping manage household supplies.
Assisting with arranging reliable gardeners or other household maintenance services when needed.
Helping ensure the home is always well maintained.

Garden

Helping keep outdoor areas tidy.
Basic garden tidying where appropriate.
Coordinating with a gardener when more extensive maintenance is required.

Pet Care (Very Important)

We have one indoor Ragdoll cat.

Responsibilities include:

Feeding the cat.
Refreshing water daily.
Cleaning the litter tray.
Spending time playing with the cat if time allows.
Monitoring the cat’s wellbeing and informing us of any concerns.

The cat must NEVER be allowed outside. This is the most important responsibility in the role. Applicants must be comfortable working carefully around an indoor cat and always ensure doors and gates are managed safely to prevent any possibility of escape.

Requirements

Previous housekeeping experience in private homes.
Excellent attention to detail.
Honest, reliable and trustworthy.
Comfortable around cats and genuinely enjoys animals.
Able to work independently.
Good organisational skills.
Good English preferred.
References from previous employers are preferred.
