Job Details
An Automotive Vehicle Battery Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, maintaining, installing, and replacing vehicle batteries to ensure reliable vehicle starting and performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Inspect vehicle batteries for condition, damage, and corrosion.
* Test battery health using battery testing equipment.
* Install and replace vehicle batteries according to manufacturer guidelines.
* Clean battery terminals and remove corrosion.
* Secure batteries properly after installation.
* Check battery voltage and state of charge.
* Recharge batteries when appropriate.
* Advise customers on battery care, maintenance, and replacement intervals.
* Handle and dispose of used batteries in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.
* Maintain records of battery inspections, replacements, and warranty information.
* Keep the work area clean and follow workplace safety procedures when handling batteries.
Required Skills
* Knowledge of automotive battery types and specifications.
Ability to use battery testing equipment.
Safe handling of vehicle batteries.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Basic customer service and communication skills.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Experience in vehicle battery installation or replacement is preferred.
* Valid driver's license (Manual).
