Job Details
The Firefighting Auto Electrician is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and testing of electrical and electronic systems installed in firefighting vehicles, rescue vehicles, emergency response units, and associated firefighting equipment. The role ensures that all vehicles and equipment remain operational, safe, and compliant with manufacturer specifications and relevant UAE regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Electrical Maintenance
Diagnose and repair electrical faults in firefighting and emergency response vehicles.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on vehicle electrical systems.
Repair and maintain wiring harnesses, connectors, relays, switches, and control modules.
Inspect and repair charging systems, alternators, batteries, and starter motors.
Troubleshoot CAN Bus and multiplex electrical systems where applicable.
Firefighting Equipment Systems
Maintain and troubleshoot electrical components of fire pumps, foam systems, monitors, and emergency warning systems.
Inspect and test emergency lighting, sirens, communication systems, and vehicle-mounted firefighting equipment.
Ensure proper functioning of control panels and monitoring systems.
Diagnostics and Testing
Use diagnostic tools and testing equipment to identify electrical and electronic faults.
Conduct functional tests after repairs and maintenance activities.
Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and testing results.
Safety and Compliance
Adhere to company HSE policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with UAE regulations and applicable firefighting vehicle standards.
Follow lockout/tagout and electrical safety procedures during maintenance activities.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Documentation
Prepare maintenance reports and service records.
Record spare parts consumption and maintenance activities.
Report major defects and recommend corrective actions.
Qualifications
Diploma or Technical Certificate in Auto Electrical, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Additional certifications in automotive electrical systems are preferred.
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an Auto Electrician.
Experience working on firefighting vehicles, emergency response vehicles, heavy trucks, or specialized vehicles is preferred.
Experience with electrical diagnostic tools and modern vehicle electronic systems.
