Job Details

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant and Operations Executive to join our boutique art gallery in Dubai and oversee the gallery's financial management, business operations and human resources. This is a pivotal role within a small, collaborative team, offering the opportunity to contribute to both the commercial success and day-to-day running of a dynamic creative business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Finance
• Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and management accounts.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Reconcile bank accounts and monitor cash flow.
• Prepare and submit UAE VAT returns.
• Process payroll and maintain employee records.
• Liaise with auditors, banks, and external service providers.
• Maintain inventory and sales records for artworks.
• Support budgeting and financial planning.
• Ensure compliance with UAE accounting and tax regulations.
• Manage project costing and project accounting functions, meticulously tracking project expenses, revenues, and profitability

2. Operations
• Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the gallery and office.
• Manage artwork inventory, sales records and client invoicing.
• Manage contracts, insurance policies and business documentation.
• Identify and implement operational improvements and efficiencies.

3. Human Resources
• Coordinate recruitment, onboarding and offboarding processes.
• Maintain employee records and HR documentation.
• Administer employment contracts, visa renewals and medical insurance.
• Coordinate annual leave, attendance and payroll information.
• Support performance review processes and staff development.
• Ensure compliance with UAE labour laws and company policies.
• Foster a positive, professional and collaborative workplace culture.

Candidate Profile
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years' relevant experience in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of UAE accounting standards, VAT and labour regulations.
• Experience in finance, office management and HR administration.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho Books or similar.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving abilities.
• High level of integrity, discretion and attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable
• Experience in an art gallery, luxury retail, hospitality, or another creative industry.
• Experience with inventory management and point-of-sale systems.
• Immediate availability or a short notice period.
