JOB OVERVIEW
Renofix is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Internal Control Officer to strengthen operational and financial controls across the organization. The role focuses on reviewing expenses, purchases, inventory movements, project costs, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy, accountability, cost efficiency, and compliance with company procedures.
The successful candidate will work closely with Management, Operations, Procurement, and Accounting teams to improve controls, prevent errors and financial leakage, enhance reporting accuracy, and support continuous business improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Review and verify operational expenses, purchases, advances, reimbursements, and other company expenditures.
• Ensure all transactions are supported by proper documentation, approvals, and valid business justification.
• Review invoices, quotations, purchase records, supplier documents, and supporting evidence for completeness and accuracy.
• Monitor advances issued to teams and employees and ensure proper settlement and documentation.
• Review payments made to subcontractors, freelancers, suppliers, and external service providers.
• Verify that purchases are necessary, properly approved, competitively sourced, and aligned with company requirements.
• Review inventory movements, warehouse transactions, tools, equipment, and employee asset allocations.
• Conduct periodic audits of company assets, inventory, tools, and operational equipment.
• Identify duplicate payments, unsupported expenses, unusual transactions, policy violations, and control weaknesses.
• Verify that transactions are accurately recorded and properly allocated within the accounting system.
• Review project costs, revenues, and profitability to ensure accurate financial performance reporting.
• Monitor project budgets and compare actual costs against approved estimates and expected margins.
• Verify that labor, subcontractor, procurement, transportation, and operational costs are allocated to the correct projects.
• Identify cost overruns, margin erosion, inefficiencies, and areas negatively affecting project profitability.
• Prepare periodic profitability analysis and project performance reports for management.
• Assist in developing and improving internal procedures, approval workflows, procurement controls, and expense management processes.
• Prepare audit observations, findings, and recommendations for management review.
• Work collaboratively with the Accounting and Operations teams to improve controls, reduce errors, strengthen accountability, and improve operational efficiency.
• Follow up on corrective actions and monitor implementation of approved improvements.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste, prevent financial leakage, improve profitability, and strengthen overall business controls.
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Audit, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
• UAE experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of expense control, procurement review, documentation verification, and operational processes.
• Good understanding of accounting principles, financial records, and cost analysis.
• Experience reviewing project costs and profitability is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management and operational teams.
• Ability to work independently and recommend practical business improvements.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
• Experience in contracting, maintenance, facilities management, fit-out, construction, or project-based businesses.
• Experience reviewing procurement activities, operational expenses, inventory, and project costs.
• ERP and accounting system experience is an advantage.
