Job Details
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee the accounting operations of our trading company. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, monitoring inventory transactions, and supporting management with accurate financial analysis and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
Monitor inventory accounting, stock valuation, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
Reconcile inventory movements with warehouse and sales records.
Review and verify purchase orders, supplier invoices, sales invoices, and payment transactions.
Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, VAT requirements, and statutory reporting obligations.
Coordinate with external auditors and assist in annual audit processes.
Monitor cash flow, prepare cash forecasts, and support budgeting activities.
Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to improve profitability and cost control.
Supervise junior accounting staff and provide guidance on accounting procedures.
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
Assist management in financial planning, budgeting, and strategic decision-making.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent is preferred.
Minimum 5–8 years of accounting experience, preferably within a trading, distribution, or wholesale company.
Strong knowledge of financial accounting, inventory accounting, VAT, and financial reporting.
Proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
