We are a Dubai-based automotive company and part of a family group with over 30 years in the UAE automotive trade. Our operations span vehicle and automotive parts trading, including cross-border exports.

The Role
We are moving our finance function onto Odoo and are looking for a hands-on Accountant to own the books end to end: rebuilding and migrating prior-period records into the new system, then running day-to-day accounting, VAT and month-end close. This role suits someone who enjoys building clean systems and controls, not only maintaining them.

Key Responsibilities

Odoo Implementation & Data Migration
- Work with management and our Odoo implementation partner to configure the chart of accounts, journals, taxes and fiscal positions
- Reconstruct and reconcile historical records from bank statements, sales and purchase invoices, customs documents and filed VAT returns
- Load and validate opening balances, receivables, payables and inventory
- Design accounting workflows, approval steps and internal controls within Odoo

Day-to-Day Accounting
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, payments and statement reconciliations
- Perform bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and currencies
- Handle inventory and cost accounting, including landed costs (freight, duty, clearing), stock valuation and unit-level costing
- Manage petty cash and expense claims, and coordinate payroll/WPS

Tax & Compliance
- Prepare and file VAT returns on EmaraTax, including documentation for zero-rated exports
- Maintain Corporate Tax records and support compliance filings
- Liaise with external auditors and tax agents
- Ensure records are maintained in line with FTA retention requirements

Reporting
- Run monthly close and prepare the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
- Produce aging reports, margin analysis and management reports

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in the UAE, ideally in trading, distribution or automotive
- Strong working knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax
- Advanced Excel skills
- Highly organised and accurate, able to work independently in a fast-moving business

Preferred
- Hands-on experience with Odoo Accounting (v16 or later), ideally including an implementation or data migration
- Experience with inventory, landed cost and multi-currency accounting
- Familiarity with free zone and designated zone VAT treatment
- ACCA, CMA, CPA or equivalent (completed or in progress)
- Arabic or additional languages are a plus
