We are seeking an accurate and controlled Branch Operations Officer to oversee the daily back-office and transaction processing of a bank branch, ensuring that every customer transaction is processed correctly, every control is followed, and the branch is ready for audit at any time. Reporting to the Branch Manager or Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be the guardian of operational accuracy and compliance behind the counter, supporting tellers, relationship staff, and customers.
The core of the role is transaction processing and supervision. The Branch Operations Officer reviews and authorises teller and back-office transactions within delegated limits, including cash deposits and withdrawals, transfers, cheque processing, remittances, and account maintenance requests. Signatures, identification, mandates, and supporting documents are verified before approval, and any irregularity is queried rather than passed through to keep the queue moving. End-of-day processing, batch reconciliation, and system closure are completed accurately and on time.
