Key Responsibilities
- Run the full accounting cycle: bookkeeping, reconciliations, month-end and year-end closing
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and cash flow forecasts
- Handle trade finance, including Letters of Credit (LCs), SBLCs, bank guarantees, and documentary collections
- Prepare, check, and present shipping and trade documents (Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, inspection certificates) in line with UCP 600
- Be the main contact with banks: account opening, credit facilities, KYC and compliance requests, payment follow-ups
- Track payables, receivables, and each trade's margin and exposure
- Handle UAE VAT and Corporate Tax filings and work with external auditors
- Keep internal controls and documentation audit-ready
Requirements
- 10–15 years of accounting experience, including at least [5] years in commodity trading or trade finance
- Professional qualification: ACCA, CA, CPA, or CMA (required or strongly preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Hands-on experience with LCs, trade documentation, and working directly with UAE banks
- Solid knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT, and Corporate Tax
- Proficient in [Tally / QuickBooks / Zoho / SAP / Odoo] and advanced Excel
- Fluent English (Arabic, Hindi, or Urdu a plus)
- UAE experience required; candidates already in the UAE preferred
