Junior Accountant Steel Trading Company

Noor Deira Steel Trading L.L.C is a Dubai-based steel trading company operating across the UAE and GCC. We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join our accounts team and support day-to-day financial operations at our Sharjah Office.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Day-to-day accounting:
• Record sales, purchases, receipts, payments, and journal entries in the accounting system (Odoo ERP + Tally)
• Prepare and verify invoices, credit notes, debit notes, receipts, and payment vouchers
• Maintain customer and supplier ledgers with accurate, up-to-date balances
• Check supporting documents — invoices, quotations, delivery notes, LPOs, and payment records — before posting

Reconciliation & controls:
• Perform daily bank and cash reconciliations
• Maintain and monitor petty cash, cash balances, and PDC (post-dated cheque) tracking
• Reconcile customer and supplier balances and investigate discrepancies
• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable aging

Tax & compliance:
• Assist with VAT return preparation ensure transactions are properly classified and recorded per FTA requirements
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities
• Assist external auditors and provide required documents on request

Filing & coordination:
• Maintain organised hard-copy and digital accounting records
• Coordinate with sales, purchase, warehouse, and management teams on accounting-related matters
• Follow company accounting procedures and maintain strict confidentiality of financial information

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Must-have:
• B.Com, BBA (Finance), or equivalent degree in Accounting/Finance
• Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and basic accounting principles
• Experience with Tally ERP (required) and Odoo ERP (strong advantage)
• Good working knowledge of Excel formulas, reconciliation sheets, data organisation
• Understanding of UAE VAT fundamentals and FTA filing requirements
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in financial records
• 1-3 years of accounting experience (UAE experience preferred, fresh graduates with strong credentials considered)

Nice-to-have:
• Experience in a trading company (steel, commodities, or general trading)
• Familiarity with UAE labour law basics (EOSB, WPS/SIF)
• Knowledge of bank reconciliation, receivables/payables aging, and inventory accounting
• Good English communication skills (written and verbal)
