Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Chargehand Chilled Water Pipe Fitter to lead a team in fabricating, installing, and maintaining chilled water piping networks for large-scale central air conditioning (HVAC) systems. You will be responsible for supervising daily site progress, ensuring high-quality piping installation, and working hands-on alongside your team to meet project deadlines.Key Responsibilities:Team Supervision: Lead and monitor a team of chilled water pipe fitters, fabricators, and assistants to ensure daily targets are met efficiently.Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret HVAC schematic layouts, isometric drawings, and structural blueprints accurately.Installation & Fabrication: Oversee and assist in the cutting, beveling, threading, and alignment of heavy-duty pipes (mainly Carbon Steel, Black Steel, and GI pipes).Insulation Coordination: Ensure pipes are properly prepared for chilled water insulation (vapor barriers, cladding, pre-insulated pipes) to prevent sweating and energy loss.Equipment Integration: Supervise the correct connection and alignment of pipes to central HVAC equipment like Chillers, Cooling Towers, AHUs (Air Handling Units), FCUs, and Pumps.Valves & Fittings: Install and oversee the placement of valves (balancing valves, motorized valves, butterfly valves), strainers, and expansion joints.Testing & Flushing: Lead Hydrostatic pressure testing to check for leaks, and coordinate the chemical cleaning/flushing of the chilled water network.HSE Compliance: Conduct daily Tool Box Talks (TBT) and enforce safety rules, ensuring the team uses correct PPE for heavy lifting and welding operations.
