I am writing to apply for the job role of an Accountant. I am a CMA Intermediate-qualified finance professional with a B.Com in Finance from Calicut University and 1.5 years of audit experience at Hiran and Co., Chartered Accountants.
At Hiran and Co., I contributed to 16 audit engagements, including company statutory, tax, trust and GST audits. This included supporting audits involving gold stock, checked quantities and supporting documents, and investigated differences between the two. I documented my work in audit working papers and reported observations to the senior auditors. This is the same discipline your role needs for reconciling physical counts against system records, investigating discrepancies and maintaining a clear audit trail.
Beyond inventory, my work included verifying ledger balances and bank reconciliations, evaluating internal controls, and preparing financial statements under Ind AS, which is largely converged with IFRS. I prepared MIS reports and supporting schedules in Advanced Excel using pivot tables and VLOOKUP, and I can turn data into clear reports for management. I am also familiar with Tally Prime and with UAE VAT (5%) through study.
