Description
A substantial and finely cast bronze figure of a dancing celestial deity (Apsara/Devata) in the South Indian Tamil Nadu tradition. Standing in an elegant tribhanga (triple-bend) dancing pose, the figure displays exceptional craftsmanship throughout. The expressive face features a distinctive upward gaze with parted lips, framed by elaborate crown with flame projections and large circular ear ornaments. The reverse shows a magnificently detailed braided plait with individual hand-chased hair strands — a level of finish rarely seen.
