Description
I am excited to sell this unique abstract sculpture that truly stands out in any collection. THORNES OF TRUTH by Taraneh Sadedeghi is a human-scale sculptural work that occupies space with quiet authority.
Its elongated form suggests a figure that has been shaped over time — standing not in perfection, but in balance. Voids interrupt the surface, allowing light and space to pass
through the body of the sculpture. These openings prevent the form from becoming solid or fixed, introducing a sense of vulnerability within its vertical strength.
Standing at approximately 180 centimeters, the sculpture shares the viewer’s physical scale, reinforcing a direct, face-to-face encounter rather than a distant observation.
Constructed from mixed media — including papier-mâché, gypsum, and integrated mirror surfaces — the sculpture balances raw texture with moments of reflection. The matte exterior absorbs light, emphasizing weight and tactility, while mirrored elements capture fragmented reflections of the surrounding space and the viewer.
As the viewer moves around Thornes of Truth, reflections shift across its surface. Faces appear partially, architecture bends, light fragments and reforms. The work resists a single reading. What is seen depends on where one stands. In this way, the sculpture becomes less about what it represents and more about what it reveals — moment by moment, person by person.
