Antique Silver Reticulated Casserole Tureen with Ceramic Liner & Serpent Handles
Title Option 2: Vintage Silver Plated Openwork Centerpiece Bowl & Lid, Pattern 2609
Description:
Up for sale is a stunning, highly detailed antique/vintage reticulated silver-plated or sterling silver tureen/casserole holder. This magnificent centerpiece features a beautifully pierced openwork geometric lattice design across both the lid and the main bowl, creating an elegant visual texture.
Key Design Features:
• Intricate Handles: Adorned with distinct, textured snake/serpent-entwined handles on either side.
• Ornate Feet: Rests securely on four heavily cast, rococo-style scrolled foliage feet.
• Complete Set: Includes the matching openwork lid with a polished finial knob and its original, fitted white ceramic/porcelain inner liner.
• Maker Marks: Stamped with maker hallmark insignia on the upper rim framework and pattern number 2609 on the underside.
Condition:
Excellent vintage/antique condition. The openwork metal structure is completely intact with no broken lattice bridges, dents, or major warping. The silver retains a beautiful luster with light, age-appropriate patina. The fitted white ceramic liner is completely free of chips, cracks, or heavy staining.
Perfect For:
Collectors of fine antique holiday tableware, Victorian or Edwardian dining decor, or as a spectacular formal dining room centerpiece.
