Description
This antique silver jambiya from Yemen, made in the late 19th century, is a rare and valuable piece of Middle Eastern craftsmanship.
The intricate design and craftsmanship of this jambiya, made by artisans in Taiz, Yemen, reflect the rich history and artistry of the region during the late 19th century.
I hand carried the dagger myself from Yemen back in the late 1980's, where it was presented to me as a gift from the head of a local tribe in Ibb, a place steeped in history, straight out of an ancient picture book.
I part with the dagger with some pain, but as I am getting a bit older, I don't just want to sit on too much "stuff", and I will always carry the memories with me, including this valuable gift.
