Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and commercial vehicles.
The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing forklifts, wheel loaders (shovels), Bobcat skid-steer loaders, flatbed trucks, and tipper trucks. The candidate should possess sound knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
Key Responsibilities
1. Heavy Equipment Maintenance & Repair
Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair forklifts, wheel loaders (shovels), Bobcat skid-steer loaders, and other heavy equipment.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
Repair and overhaul diesel engines, gearboxes, transmissions, differentials, and hydraulic systems.
Inspect and repair hydraulic pumps, cylinders, hoses, valves, and related components.
Identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults and carry out necessary repairs.
2. Commercial Vehicle Maintenance
Perform maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty flatbed trucks, tipper trucks, and other commercial vehicles.
Diagnose and repair diesel engines, braking systems, air compressors, suspension systems, steering systems, and transmissions.
Inspect and maintain vehicle hydraulic tipping mechanisms and associated equipment.
Troubleshoot electrical faults, including starters, alternators, batteries, wiring, and lighting systems.
Carry out routine servicing, oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and component inspections.
3. Troubleshooting & Breakdown Maintenance
Respond promptly to equipment and vehicle breakdowns to minimize operational disruptions.
Diagnose faults accurately and implement effective repair solutions.
Conduct emergency repairs at the workshop, factory premises, or breakdown locations when required.
Identify recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective measures.
4. Preventive Maintenance
Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance for all assigned equipment and vehicles.
Inspect equipment regularly to identify wear, damage, leaks, and potential failures.
Monitor the condition of engines, hydraulic systems, brakes, tyres, and other critical components.
Maintain service records, repair histories, and maintenance checklists.
Recommend replacement of worn or defective parts before major breakdowns occur.
5. Workshop & Spare Parts Management
Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and machinery in proper working condition.
Identify spare parts and consumables required for maintenance and repairs.
Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor and Procurement Department for spare parts availability.
Ensure proper handling and storage of tools, lubricants, spare parts, and maintenance materials.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
6. Safety & Compliance
Follow all company safety procedures and maintenance standards.
Ensure equipment and vehicles are safe and operational before releasing them for use.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Report unsafe equipment conditions and potential hazards immediately.
Follow proper procedures for lifting, welding, cutting, and handling heavy mechanical components.
Required Qualifications & Experience
ITI, Diploma, or Technical Certification in Diesel Mechanics, Automobile Engineering, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in heavy equipment and commercial vehicle maintenance.
Proven experience repairing forklifts, wheel loaders (shovels), Bobcat skid-steer loaders, flatbed trucks, and tipper trucks.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, gearboxes, transmissions, braking systems, and electrical systems.
Ability to independently diagnose mechanical and hydraulic faults.
Experience in engine overhauling and major component repairs.
Ability to read technical manuals, mechanical drawings, and hydraulic circuit diagrams.
Familiarity with diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
Previous experience in a manufacturing, mining, quarrying, construction, or industrial environment is preferred.
Experience working in the UAE or GCC is an advantage.

We are looking for a practical, experienced, and technically competent Heavy Duty Mechanic who can independently diagnose and repair multiple types of heavy equipment and commercial vehicles. The candidate must be comfortable working in an industrial environment and capable of handling both routine maintenance and major mechanical repairs.
