Logistics Operations Supervisor – Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Logistics Operations Supervisor to manage and coordinate daily logistics operations across the UAE, Iraq and the Middle East. The role will be responsible for end-to-end shipment execution, including freight forwarding, transportation, customs clearance, DDP shipments, vendor coordination, delivery follow-up, cost control, Work Orders and shipment closing. The candidate will supervise the operations team, coordinate with customers and logistics partners, resolve operational issues, ensure timely and accurate shipment execution, and maintain high service standards and compliance with company SOPs.
Key Responsibilities
1) Supervise and coordinate daily logistics operations for shipments across Iraq, UAE and the Middle East.
2) Manage end-to-end shipment operations from booking and documentation to delivery and final shipment closing.
3) Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, transporters, customs brokers, warehouses, ports and other logistics service providers.
4) Arrange and monitor sea freight, land transportation, customs clearance, DDP shipments and last-mile delivery.
5) Follow up shipment status, transit schedules, cargo movements and delivery timelines to ensure on-time execution.
6) Coordinate with Iraq operations teams, drivers, vendors and customers to resolve operational issues quickly and efficiently.
7) Review and verify shipping documents, delivery documents, PODs, customs documents and other shipment-related paperwork.
8) Monitor cargo loading, unloading, transshipment, customs clearance and delivery activities.
9) Control operational costs and ensure agreed vendor rates and service terms are properly followed.
10) Coordinate with Procurement and Commercial teams for vendor rates, transportation requirements and operational quotations.
11) Review vendor invoices and supporting documents before submitting them to Finance for payment.
12) Ensure all shipment costs, revenue and operational activities are properly updated in the company logistics system / UFMS.
13) Ensure Work Orders (WO) are properly issued, followed and closed for each shipment.
14) Monitor outstanding operational issues, claims, cargo shortages, damages, delays and delivery discrepancies and coordinate timely resolution.
15) Maintain strong working relationships with customers, vendors, transporters and internal departments.
16) Supervise and guide operations staff, allocate daily tasks and monitor team performance.
17) Prepare regular shipment status reports, operational reports and management updates.
18) Ensure all operations comply with company SOPs, customer requirements and applicable customs, port and transportation regulations.
19) Identify operational risks and recommend improvements to reduce delays, additional costs and service failures.
20) Support management in improving operational efficiency, vendor management, cost control and overall customer service.
Requirements
1) 3–5 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, transportation or supply chain operations.
2) Experience in Iraq logistics / Middle East logistics is highly preferred.
3) Strong knowledge of sea freight, land transportation, customs clearance and DDP operations.
4) Good communication and coordination skills with customers, vendors and internal teams.
5) Strong problem-solving, follow-up and organizational skills.
6) Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
7) Good English communication skills; Arabic is an advantage.
8) Experience with logistics management systems / ERP systems is preferred.
9) Strong sense of responsibility, ownership and attention to detail.
