Senior Project Engineer – Interior Fit-Out & Finishing
Location: Dubai and Abu Dhabi UAE

Elegant Execution Building Contracting LLC is looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer – Interior Fit-Out & Finishing to manage and coordinate the execution of multiple high-end residential fit-out projects in Dubai.
The successful candidate must have strong practical site experience in complete interior fit-out works and should be capable of independently managing technical coordination, workmanship quality, subcontractors, site teams, materials, inspections and day-to-day execution while reporting directly to the Projects Manager.
This is not a general civil engineering position. We are looking for a candidate with strong hands-on experience in high-end interiors, finishing works and multidisciplinary fit-out coordination.
Key Responsibilities:-
* Manage day-to-day execution of assigned interior fit-out projects.
* Handle multiple nearby projects and ensure proper planning, coordination and follow-up across all sites.
* Review architectural, interior design, MEP and specialist drawings before execution.
* Identify drawing discrepancies, missing details and site conflicts before work proceeds.
* Coordinate all interior trades including:
- Marble and natural stone works
- Porcelain, ceramic and tile works
- Joinery and carpentry
- Glass and mirror works
- Gypsum ceilings and partitions
- Decorative ceilings and feature walls
- Painting and decorative finishes
- Metal and stainless-steel works
- Doors, hardware and ironmongery
- Waterproofing and wet-area finishes
- Sanitary fittings and accessories
- Lighting installation and coordination
- HVAC grilles, diffusers and access panels
- Electrical and plumbing coordination
- Other architectural and specialist finishing works
* Coordinate MEP works with architectural and interior finishes to avoid clashes and rework.
* Ensure ceilings are not closed before all required MEP works; inspections and approvals are completed.
* Check setting-out, levels, dimensions, alignment, joints, interfaces and finishing details before execution.
* Coordinate between site conditions, approved drawings, shop drawings and actual measurements.
* Review shop drawings, material submissions, samples and technical proposals from subcontractors and suppliers.
* Ensure materials and subcontractors are mobilized in line with the programme.
* Prepare short-term look-ahead programmes and daily/weekly site priorities.
* Monitor manpower, subcontractor productivity and work sequencing.
* Ensure workmanship complies with approved drawings, specifications and company quality standards.
* Inspect completed works before requesting consultant/client inspections.
* Identify defective or non-compliant work and ensure immediate rectification.
* Prevent unnecessary rework by resolving technical and coordination issues before execution.
* Coordinate with designers, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors and internal departments.
* Attend site meetings, technical meetings and coordination meetings when required.
* Raise RFIs and technical queries where information is missing or unclear.
* Maintain proper site records, photographs, inspection records and progress documentation.
* Immediately report delays, risks, missing approvals and third-party constraints to the Projects Manager.
* Support the Projects Manager in maintaining the overall project programme.
* Coordinate snagging, de-snagging and final handover activities.
* Ensure sites are maintained in a professional, safe and organized manner.
* Ensure subcontractors comply with project specifications, approved materials and required quality.
* Assist in identifying variations and additional works before execution.
* Coordinate with procurement regarding upcoming material requirements and delivery priorities.
* Take ownership of assigned projects and provide solutions rather than simply escalating routine site problems.
Required Experience:-
* Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in interior fit-out, finishing and construction projects.
* Strong UAE experience is highly preferred.
* Proven experience in high-end residential villas, luxury interiors, hospitality or premium fit-out projects.
* Must have personally handled complete interior fit-out execution rather than only one specialist trade.
* Strong understanding of architectural and interior detailing.
* Good understanding of MEP coordination within fit-out projects.
* Strong practical knowledge of finishing materials and installation methods.
* Experience managing several subcontractors and trades simultaneously.
* Experience coordinating multiple sites will be an advantage.
* Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced contracting environment.
Technical Skills Required:-
Candidate must be able to confidently review and coordinate:
* Architectural plans, elevations, sections and details
* Interior design drawings
* Reflected ceiling plans
* Flooring layouts
* Marble and tile layouts
* Joinery and millwork details
* Glass and metalwork details
* Door schedules
* Lighting layouts
* HVAC layouts and ceiling coordination
* Electrical layouts
* Plumbing and sanitary layouts
* Shop drawings and material submissions
* Actual site dimensions and setting-out
***The candidate should be capable of detecting coordination problems before they become site problems.***
Qualifications:-
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Architecture or a related construction discipline.
* UAE driving licence is strongly preferred.
* Good command of English is required.
* Good computer skills and ability to work with AutoCAD, MS Office and project coordination software.
* Ability to read and understand detailed technical drawings is essential.
