We are seeking a committed and research-active Assistant Professor to teach, supervise, and contribute to scholarship within an academic department. Reporting to the Head of Department or Dean, the successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching at undergraduate and, where appropriate, postgraduate level, build an independent research profile, and play a full part in the life of the department and the wider university.
The core of the role is teaching and student learning. The Assistant Professor designs and delivers courses in their discipline, prepares syllabi, lectures, tutorials, labs, and assessments aligned with programme learning outcomes, and uses current teaching methods, including blended and digital approaches, to keep students engaged. Assignments and examinations are marked fairly and returned with useful feedback, grades are submitted on time, and course materials are reviewed each term in response to student results and feedback. Academic integrity is upheld consistently.
