About the Role
Axent is looking for an experienced Artwork Finalizer / Prepress & Production Designer to join our Designers Team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for converting approved creative concepts, visual presentations and AI-assisted designs into accurate, technically correct and production-ready artwork.
This is not primarily a creative concept-design role. It requires a detail-oriented production specialist who understands how to rebuild, adjust and prepare artwork for actual manufacturing and customization across different products and production methods.
Key Responsibilities
• Convert approved designs, presentations and AI-generated visuals into editable, production-ready artwork.
• Recreate artwork when the original AI-generated output is not suitable for production.
• Prepare files according to the exact dimensions, specifications and production requirements of each product.
• Create and verify die lines, cut lines, bleed areas, safety margins, registration marks and finishing instructions.
• Prepare artwork for various customization methods, including UV printing, screen printing, sublimation, laser engraving, embroidery, heat transfer, vinyl cutting and digital printing.
• Convert fonts to outlines, embed or link images correctly and ensure all artwork elements are editable where required.
• Prepare color separations, spot colors, CMYK files, white-ink layers and cut-contour paths.
• Check image resolution, color accuracy, proportions, positioning and overall artwork quality before production.
• Adapt approved artwork to different products, sizes, materials and branding areas.
• Prepare mock-ups, technical layouts and clear production instructions when required.
• Coordinate with designers, sales coordinators and the production team to confirm specifications and resolve technical issues.
• Review files received from customers or designers and identify missing, low-quality or unsuitable elements.
• Maintain correct file naming, version control and organized storage of final production files.
• Conduct a final pre-production check to minimize printing errors, material waste, delays and rework.
• Ensure that the final manufactured item remains consistent with the approved design and customer requirements.
Required Qualifications and Skills
• Proven experience as an Artwork Finalizer, Prepress Designer, Production Artist or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
• Good working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat.
• Experience with CorelDRAW is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of vector artwork, print preparation, colour modes, resolution, bleed, die lines and output specifications.
• Practical understanding of printing, engraving, embroidery or promotional-product customization processes.
• Ability to recreate AI-generated or flattened artwork as accurate, editable vector files.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to detect technical errors before production.
• Ability to manage multiple urgent jobs and meet production deadlines.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a design and production team.
Preferred Experience
• Previous experience in corporate gifts, promotional products, printing, packaging, signage, advertising or a related industry.
• Experience preparing artwork for products such as gift boxes, drinkware, garments, bags, trophies, stationery and customized corporate gifts.
• Basic knowledge of embroidery digitizing requirements or machine-production limitations would be an advantage.
Important
Applicants must have practical experience preparing files for real production. Graphic designers whose experience is limited to social media designs or visual presentations may not be suitable unless they also have strong prepress and production-artwork experience.
