We are seeking a passionate, reliable, and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and oversee daily kitchen operations. While experience with Ethiopian cuisine is an advantage, we welcome candidates from diverse culinary backgrounds who demonstrate strong leadership, professionalism, creativity, and a commitment to high-quality food and service.
The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented leader who can build a positive kitchen culture, maintain operational excellence, and ensure consistent food quality while managing costs effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, motivate, and develop the kitchen team.
Foster a respectful, collaborative, and professional work environment.
Schedule staff, delegate responsibilities, and ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Train and mentor kitchen personnel to maintain high performance standards.
Kitchen Operations
Oversee daily food preparation and service.
Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of all menu items.
Maintain organized kitchen workflows and efficient service standards.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing requirements.
Financial & Inventory Management
Control food costs and reduce unnecessary waste.
Manage inventory, stock rotation, and supplier coordination.
Ensure efficient use of kitchen resources while maintaining quality standards.
Menu Development
Contribute creative ideas for menu improvements and special dishes.
Standardize recipes and maintain recipe documentation.
Work closely with management to enhance the dining experience.
Compliance & Food Safety
Maintain the highest standards of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety.
Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality regulations and company policies.
Conduct regular checks to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of professional kitchen experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
Proven ability to lead and manage a kitchen team effectively.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Honest, trustworthy, dependable, and professional character.
Experience with inventory management, food cost control, and kitchen operations.
Culinary qualification or equivalent professional experience preferred.
Experience with Ethiopian cuisine is an advantage but not required.
