POSITION:
GRC Caster / Mould Technician, decorative planters. Full time, hands-on production role. Location: Sharjah / Northern Emirates, UAE.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are a UAE B2B plantscaping company setting up an in-house casting line for premium decorative planters. We are hiring one experienced caster to run hand layup casting in multi-part fiberglass moulds, working directly with the owners in the setup phase.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare and season new moulds. Apply release agents consistently by spray and brush, including rim undercuts.
• Weigh and mix material batches exactly to a written batch card. All dosing is by weight.
• Hand layup into multi-part fiberglass moulds. Consolidate, roll out entrapped air, maintain even wall thickness on curved forms.
• Check wall thickness with a depth gauge at rim, mid and base. Correct thin spots before set.
• Assemble, bolt and strip multi-part moulds in the correct sequence. Demould without chipping or cracking.
• Finish castings: clean part-line flash, patch pinholes and minor defects, prepare surfaces for finishing.
• Maintain moulds, tools and a clean, safe work area. Wear PPE (respirator for powders, goggles and gloves for chemicals).
• Record batch details and simple QC notes for every piece.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 5 to 8 years hands-on casting experience in GRC / ornamental precast / architectural elements (columns, balustrades, cornices, planters) or cultured marble.
• Must be currently hands-on. This is a working caster role, not a supervisory role.
• Multi-part mould experience, including forms with undercuts.
• Practical fluency with release agents (wax, PVA, semi-permanent types) and mould seasoning.
• Works by weight and follows batch cards exactly as written.
• Physically fit for manual production work.
GOOD TO HAVE
• Background specifically in decorative planters or ornamental columns.
• Basic working communication in English or Hindi.
SELECTION PROCESS
Shortlisted candidates will complete a short practical casting trial as part of the interview. Salary based on experience.
