Supervision and Planning
• Supervise mechanical technicians and allocate daily work according to skills and priorities.
• Ensure all mechanical work meets quality, safety and schedule requirements.
• Coordinate with engineers and other departments during dry-docking and repair projects.
• Monitor progress, quality and resource usage, and report manpower, tool and material needs.
Technical Oversight
• Review drawings, manuals and work orders, and brief the team before starting.
• Inspect work, witness tests such as alignment and pressure tests, and verify compliance with specifications.
• Support fault diagnosis and resolve technical issues escalated by the team.
Training, Records and Reporting
• Coach technicians, support trade tests and competence assessments (QP-OPS-001), and report on team performance.
• Maintain job cards, test records, daily progress reports and attendance records for the team.
Health, Safety and Environment
• Enforce safety standards and Permit-to-Work systems (QP-HSE-003).
• Conduct toolbox talks and ensure the team uses correct PPE, isolation and safe lifting practices.
• Investigate and report incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions immediately (QP-HSE-001).
• Ensure good housekeeping and correct waste disposal in the work area.
