Job Title: Assistant Accountant / Accounts Clerk
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Accountant / Clerk to support our finance team in managing daily accounting operations. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring the smooth functioning of day-to-day accounting activities.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and bookkeeping.
Process invoices, purchase related entries, bank receipts and payments.
Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Prepare and maintain accounting records and financial documentation.
Reconcile bank statements and company accounts.
Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and statements.
Support internal and external audits by providing the required financial documentation.
Perform accurate data entry in accounting software and maintain financial databases.
Assist with petty cash management and expense tracking.
Ensure all financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Provide administrative support to the finance department as required.
Basic knowledge of import and export procedures (RCM).
Should be capable of handling payroll operations for a small number of employees.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
Proven experience as an Assistant Accountant, Accounts Clerk, or in a similar accounting role.
Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Zoho Books, Firstbit, RBS, Facts or similar) is an advantage.
Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Languages known: English and Hindi, etc.
