Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented **Accountant** to join our Dubai operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day accounting, financial records, reconciliations, VAT compliance, accounts payable and receivable, and preparation of management reports.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on accounting experience in the UAE, a strong understanding of UAE VAT and corporate tax requirements, and the ability to independently maintain accurate books and financial records.
## Key Responsibilities
* Handle day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities.
* Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and general ledger entries.
* Manage **accounts payable and accounts receivable**, including supplier and customer reconciliations.
* Perform **bank, cash, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations**.
* Prepare monthly **Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and other management reports**.
* Monitor outstanding receivables, supplier payments, expenses, advances, and petty cash.
* Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for all accounting transactions.
* Assist with budgeting, cash-flow monitoring, and financial analysis.
* Prepare and support **UAE VAT returns** and ensure proper VAT documentation and record keeping.
* Support **UAE Corporate Tax** compliance, calculations, documentation, and filing requirements in coordination with management/external consultants.
* Maintain fixed asset schedules, depreciation records, accruals, and prepayments.
* Assist with payroll-related accounting and employee expense settlements.
* Coordinate with banks, auditors, tax consultants, suppliers, customers, and other external parties when required.
* Support annual audits and provide schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents to auditors.
* Ensure proper filing and maintenance of accounting and statutory records.
* Identify discrepancies, unusual transactions, or control issues and promptly report them to management.
* Perform other finance and accounting duties assigned by management.
## Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in **Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field**.
* Minimum **3–5 years of relevant accounting experience**, preferably including experience in the UAE.
* Good knowledge of **UAE VAT and Corporate Tax** requirements.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
* Experience with accounting software such as **Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Xero, ERP systems, or similar**.
* Strong proficiency in **Microsoft Excel**, including reconciliations, formulas, and financial schedules.
* Experience working with multiple companies or business units will be an advantage.
* Experience in **retail, trading, distribution, hospitality, or multi-entity businesses** will be an advantage.

* Ability to work independently and meet monthly reporting deadlines.
* Strong organizational and documentation skills.

## Preferred Candidate
We are particularly interested in candidates who are **hands-on and operational**, rather than purely supervisory. The candidate should be comfortable managing transactions, reconciliations, reporting, compliance, and supporting documentation personally while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and financial control.
