Dear Hiring Manager,
I am writing to express my interest in the accountant position. With more than 12 years of experience in finance, accounting, procurement, administration, grants management, compliance, and operations across humanitarian, donor-funded, and private-sector environments, I am confident I can contribute effectively to your finance and master data management functions.
Throughout my career, I have developed strong experience in maintaining accurate financial records, reviewing and validating financial documentation, reconciling accounts and transactions, monitoring budgets, managing supplier and vendor information, and ensuring compliance with established financial policies and internal controls. My experience with SAP, SUN Systems, QuickBooks, ERP systems, FOCUS, Peachtree/Sage, Quantum Accountant, and Microsoft Excel has strengthened my ability to work with financial and operational data accurately and efficiently.
In my recent role as Accountant and Sales Officer at Silver Metal Industries LLC in the UAE, I managed daily banking transactions, customer collections, payment vouchers, petty cash, bank reconciliations, accounting records, and financial documentation. I also supported procurement activities through supplier identification, evaluation, price negotiation, purchase order coordination, inventory requirements, and delivery follow-up. These responsibilities required a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, confidentiality, and coordination with multiple stakeholders.
Previously, as Grant Officer and Acting Grant Manager with Light for the World International, I managed and monitored a USD 2 million+ USAID-funded project budget, supported more than 30 supplier contracts, strengthened grant compliance systems, prepared donor reports, and supported internal and external audits. This experience strengthened my ability to maintain reliable data and documentation while ensuring compliance with complex donor requirements and organizational controls.
My earlier positions with ZOA International, LVIA, Plan International, The Fred Hollows Foundation, and USAID-supported programs further developed my expertise in financial management, procurement, supplier verification, invoice processing, reconciliations, budget monitoring, reporting, audit preparation, logistics, and administrative controls. Working in these environments has taught me to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting strict deadlines.
I am particularly interested in the Master Data Management aspect of this position because accurate and well-controlled master data is fundamental to effective financial operations. My background in financial record management, supplier and vendor documentation, reconciliation, compliance, data accuracy, and internal controls provides a strong foundation for maintaining high-quality master data and supporting reliable financial reporting and decision-making.
