The Thunderbolt 3 Option Card, available for rackmount Apollo interfaces, enables direct Thunderbolt 3 connectivity between Apollo and compatible Mac or Windows systems. This user-installable card features two Thunderbolt 3 ports and provides 15W of bus power to all downstream Thunderbolt 3 peripherals—perfect for adding Apollo or UAD-2 Satellite DSP accelerators, as well as daisy-chaining with the latest storage and 4K displays.

・UAD software v9.5.1 or later

・Apple Mac computer with an available Thunderbolt 1, 2, or 3 port
・macOS 10.12 Sierra or 10.13 High Sierra*Although the Apple MacBook has a USB-C port, it does not support Thunderbolt 3 and is therefore not compatible with this product. *Connections via Thunderbolt 1 and 2 require an Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter (sold separately).
[Windows]
- A Windows PC with an available Thunderbolt 3 port
- Windows 10 with Fall Creators Update (64-bit edition) *Computers from 2016 or later with a 6th Generation Intel Skylake (or higher) processor and a Thunderbolt 3 (Alpine Ridge) controller via a USB-C port are expected to be compatible.
[Other Common Requirements]
- A Thunderbolt 3 cable (sold separately)
- 6GB or more of free storage
- A Quad Core i7 or higher processor is recommended
- 8GB or more of RAM is recommended
- An Internet connection (for software downloads, product registration, and additional plug-ins)
- Connections using Thunderbolt to FireWire adapters, Thunderbolt hubs, or other conversion adapters are not supported. *Use under Apple Boot Camp or a virtual Windows environment is not supported. *Thunderbolt 3 products listed on Intel's Thunderbolt Technology Community page are expected to be compatible. ◎Important Notice Regarding Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) Ports: USB-C (USB Type-C) simply refers to the connector shape. Therefore, not all USB-C ports support Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C connectors are also used for other protocols, such as USB 3.1 and USB 2.0).
