It is designed mainly for travel, hotels, and temporary internet setups rather than permanent home use. What it does (main functions) The DIR-505 can work in several different modes: 1. Wi-Fi Router Mode You plug it into a wired internet (Ethernet) source It creates a Wi-Fi network Lets multiple devices (phone, laptop, tablet) connect wirelessly 👉 Example: Hotel room has only LAN cable → DIR-505 creates Wi-Fi for your devices 2. Access Point (AP) Mode Connects to an existing wired network Broadcasts Wi-Fi from it Used to “add Wi-Fi” to a wired-only setup 3.
