WW2 period 1934, (original) officer SA d@gger, Excellent condition by the rare maker G. FELIX GLORIAWORK Solingen, with triple leather hanger.
The crossguards and tang nut are of the solid nickel-silver type, with crisp edges and deep accent groves.
The reverse of the lower crossguard is stamped with the Gruppe Mark, “Nm” for Nordmark.
These symbols where used to designate the appropriate SA Group regional command, division command, or defence centre to which the original owner belonged.
The beautiful dark wooden grip is in excellent condition, with just a couple of very light dents on the reverse.
The SA runes disc is excellent condition with just one tiny chip to the original enamel. The nickel grip eagle is a fine ‘crisp’ early solid nickel-silver version and it fits into the grip very well.
The scabbard shell is in excellent condition, completely straight and has the early brown anodised finish, that does show signs of wear and patches of lightening to the finish. There are also a few light dings to the front and reverse, about six in all.
The scabbard mounts are the bright nickel-silver type and the upper mount is in near mint condition with the hanger loop and ring in place.
Attached to the ring is its original leather hanger and slider with nickel buckle and spring clip, that is in near mint condition and hard to find these days.
The lower scabbard mount shows some light dings and possibly a small professional solder repair to the lower edge?
All four round headed scabbard screws are in place.
The blade has the deeply etched “Alles Fur Deutschland’ motto on the front, that has lost most of its dark background over the years.
On the reverse there is the clear G. FELIX GLORIAWORK Solingen trademark.
The blade is a beauty, with the bright nickel-plating finish. There is some very slight greying towards the tip, which is hard to see in the photos. There are also the normal scabbard runner marks on both sides of the blade.
The blade measures (22cm) and the d@gger itself (34cm) long, It weighs a heavy 495g
